Grandmother's built in pantry for some reason. I
remember vividly the front room with french doors and
lace curtains, and a working fireplace.
I always wondered at the well kept houses on this street. I imagine these were built for families working in factories and businesses of the area. Many of the same families have lived on this street for generations. |

| Changes to House | The house had very old wallpapering which we sheetrocked over. Otherwise it stayed pretty much the same. Before we lived there my grandparents used it as a summer house so it has really been in the family longer than when we lived there. |
| Memory | It was a darling little house and my sister and I spent hours playing in the breezeway. And the back patio off the laundry room was Barbie's World. I had the only upstairs bedroom and I loved to sit on top of my dresser and gaze out the window at the beautiful backyard and during the winter at the lake. |
| Other Information | There was a boathouse that went with the original property. My parent's sold it and the property around it but it matched the house perfectly, they were both a 50s green. Also there was a darling stone "well" at the road where we kept our garbage cans and one in the back yard as a place to burn excess trash. |

My father built the chimmney in the kitchen, also the
carport, moved the porch from the side of the house to
the front of the house, poured the patio, put the
hardwood flooring down by himself one easter weekend.
Built the bookcase in the livingroom, built the master
bath downstairs. He was always working on the house.

I just remember that the house seemed so very big. In the front door and into the livingroom with staircase that went up to a bedroom to the left and a window at the top of the stairs and to the right a full bath and down the hall to the left another bedroom and to the right still another bedroom and stairs that led to the attic. We used to climb out the window and sit on the carport roof at night and look at the stars. In the summer you could smell the ocean we lived so close. As you walked in the front door you walked into the livingroom and it was wide but not deep and as you continued on there was a banister that went around and led to the stairs that went to the basement and to the left was the dineingroom and off to the left was the master bedroom and to the right was the kitchen and a great chimeny which was supposed to have a grill but my father died before he could get it finished and at the end of the kitchen was the back door which led to a small porch. There was the most buetiful lilac tree at the side corner of the house and my dad planted silver maples he loved silver maples. |
