changed a kitchen into a bedroom when we moved in,
change the whole house floor from carpet to wood, made the living room
the dining room, completely changed the outside of the house and
garage. We changed the color, and material.

My aunt's room now used to be a kitchen upstairs on
the third floor. When we first saw the house, on the outside, it was
white and looked old and scratched, like a really old house. The
pattern and design looked old. The garage was also white and scratched,
like the house. The garage roof had huge holes through them.

There were 3 of us living in the house. A single mother and 2 boys. We moved into the home when the oldest boy was 2. The second boy spent his entire childhood in the home. When the oldest boy was 3 we planted a small maple tree in the center of the front yard. We went into the woods in a nearby town and picked it ourselves, then planted the tree ourselves. The small tree grew and grew, well over the power lines on the street. We sold the house around 1997, since that time the new owners cut down the maple in the front yard and many of the white pines in the back. The home contains great memories for the family. Christmas was always spent at the house with extended family. The house was almost hit by lightning one summer evening in the late 70's. The lightning hit one of the tall white pines in the back yard and created what looked like a huge birds nest on the top of the tree with its limbs. I don't know if the white pine remains standing. |
