We rented the house from a family with the name of
Gillespie. The mother of the man we rented from lived
two doors down from us (to the east).

My father added a small back porch to the house, but the
landlord would not allow him to make any other
improvements (like replace the roof).

| Tell us about your memories of the house? |
This is the first house I remember growing up. It had
push button lights, wood floors, beautiful woodwork, a
scary basement and attic and a big front porch with a
small "portico." My nine year old brother broke my leg
on the sidewalk in front of this house when I was four
years old in 1987. I was trying to block him from riding
his bike over to a friend's house (it didn't work out
well for me). I have many more memories of this house...
