2007~ Tanner Hanson and Heather Grund~ House was in need of major repairs. The city was wanting the house torn down. and it was full of bats, squirls and much more.

We have replaced all the major and minor appliances, including new furnace and central air, ductwork, water lines, new toilets, sinks, flooring, new roof, new siding, new windows, and many many gallons of paint. We have worked hard for 3 years and it is starting to look like a home!
Tell us about your memories of the house?

The night before we moved in, me and Tanner came to the house after dark and sat on the deck, There was no power in the house yet. We could not beleive that we had to stay here the next night. The first night was uneventful, that was the calm before the storm... After 3 years we have had so many memmories, including water gushing from the ceiling after Tanner and Matt forgot to hook the new water line to the faucet. Taking 3 new water heaters back up the tiny basement stairs to return them to menards, Tanner asking why the heck did we buy this house as he was coverd in who knows what trying to get the new water lines ran in the crawl space. The many times of hiting the floor when the bats decided to visit. The squirles that had a family reunion in our attick. Putting the patio doors in 3 times because no one agreed which way was right. The bruises, and some scares, many late nights, and millions of trips to menards, but there were laughs and smiles and finally its almost done. I look back at the pics before we started and I can't beleive it's the same place!

We rented the home for 1 yr. No changes made. But I know it was a very old home probably built in the early 1900's

Beautiful layout. Sunken bedrooms upstairs. Unfinished basement with what I believe was a root cellar with a dirt floor. I'm just curious about who may have lived there and what changes were made over the years.

Work Dad was a music teacher, so the front room, which had 9 windows, was "The Music Room" where lessons were taught, and practice was done. Willard Greene was a physician with the Minnesota department of Health, other than that, normal family living experiences.

Memory Holidays! There was always music and plenty of wonderful food. There was no greater compliment to my mother, than after a great dinner, everyone sat down in the living room and fell asleep.

Changes to House The house was very old when my family moved into it and required a great deal of remodeling. We changed a great deal of it. It was at one time a boarding house,I believe.I found an old stationary kit with a letter still in it waiting to be sent.It was written by a lady we later met she was in her 80s when we met her, she wrote about her brother dying of consuption. Along with other family members and relatives.
Memory Nearly every night we heard foot steps going up and down the stairs, many glass heavy ash trays moving or being lifted and dropped, the sound of kids laughing and raising kain (we got in trouble for being loud or playing late at night, it wasnt us!) Electronics turning on even though they were not plugged in. I had hanging plants that would begin swinging around and around, the swing getting larger and larger until I would say "stop it" or I would just run down stairs.
Other Information I saw, and so did many others, a ghost in that house. There were two. One was a little old man the younger kids would say he looked like santa. The other was just a big dark shadow. The older man with the white hair, short beard, and light blue eyes terrified me one day. I was brushing my hair and I said, "if there is someone here, prove it!" I saw him in the mirror first, I turned,threw my brush with a startled jerk,and ran down the stairs to the kitchen. I never saw him again after that, but others did.

My brother and I remodeled the kitchen, bathroom and general updates throughout the house including exposing and refinishing the hard wood floors. We also installed slate tile throughout the house replacing the three layers of linoleum that were there before. We also re-landscaped the house, put a patio in the back and installed a new brick sidewalk.

Living in the house right after college, renting to my friends while my brother was away with the military (Iraq war).
