We are enjoying
raising our children in this old home very much. We love learning the
history of it and hearing stories. We have not changed the floorplan of
the house but have finished out half the basement for an extra guest
room and kid playroom. Someday I have dreams of finishing the attic. I
also have dreams of creating more flowerbeds and landscapes around the
old trees. This is truly our dream home.

I remember when we first moved in as a newlywed couple with no kids and couldn't imagine filling up all the rooms. Now 5 kids later, there is never a quiet moment. The kids make laps and tromp up and down the hardwood stairs all day long. We love having dinner on the porch in the summer and sitting in the porch swing to watch the kids play in the big yard. We love entertaining and having guests. It is so nice to gather around the big dining table and visit in the kitchen. We had a family reunion several years ago and uncles, etc built a large swingset that will probably endure for generations. I hope we still live here when our kids get married and have grandkids to come visit. |
