They made many changes to accomodate their growing
family. The room to the left as you walk in used to be the kitchen.
They added the whole back of the house including the kitchen/dining
room, bedroom and bathroom. Always loved the fireplace in the dining
room they added.

This was my Grandparents house and my mothers house
she grew up in. There were many many great family memories here. They
bought this house right after WWII ended and had six children.

LOTS! We planted a big garden, we upgraded plumbing, electrical. Replaced all windows, added a deck with French doors off of the main bedroom. Added a pergola in back with a brick patio built from bricks salvaged from the old Cigar Shop on Pacific in Santa Cruz that was leveled during the Loma Prieta earthquake. I was seated next to the son of the original owner of the cigar ship-Kim Joslin-at a dinner party and before the night was over I made a deal to buy bricks from him. Five hundred I think but it seems like it took 4 trips back and forth to Santa Cruz in a borrowed small truck to move all of those bricks. |
